Manali Petrochemicals is planning to increase its polyol production capacity to 1,50,000 tpa from its current capacity of 50,000 tpa as a brownfield expansion programme. The project will entail an investment of Rs. 1000 million which will be spread over 4-5 years. The first phase of the programme will take the polyol capacity to 75000 tpa by 2016. Currently, Polyol demand in India is estimated at 0.5 million tpa. To be roughly five lakh tonne. Polyols are extensively used in the automotive, construction, refrigeration and other industrial products.
