Raasi Green Earth plans 100 MW solar power plant in Paramkudi

Raasi Green Earth is planning to set up a 100 MW solar power plant in Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu. The company has awarded the EPC contract to L&T. The contract is worth of ₹ 3,520 million. The new solar plant is likely to go operational by the year 2020. The company has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA ) at a tariff of Rs. 3.47 a kwH, for 25 years.

The generated power will be evacuated via Kavanur substation near Paramakudi. The project is funded by a ₹ 3,020 million from REC Ltd (formerly, Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd), which is charging Raasi 10.45-per cent interest.
