Tamil Nadu government is planning to develop a industrial park in Kattur and Ebrahanpur in Ponneri Taluk near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The project is likely to be implemented by Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). The new industrial park will house various manufacturing units in sectors such as heavy engineering equipment, wind/thermal power equipment, auxiliaries systems, engineering components, marine equipment, and logistics/transport systems.
The chosen location for the park is strategically situated in close proximity to a port and shipyard, approximately 30 km from Chennai. This area is recognized as one of the fastest-growing economic clusters, hosting a multitude of industrial enterprises.
