EID Parry (India) Ltd to set up 18 MW cogen plant at Sirugamani in Trichy

E.I.D. Parry (India) Ltd to set up 18 MW cogen plant at Sirugamani in Trichy in Tamil Nadu. The proposal is for setting up of 18 MW cogeneration power plant as replacement of the old boilers and turbines in their existing sugar unit. They already have existing 4.5 MW power plant which will be replaced. Bagasse will be used as fuel. However, coal upto 15% will also be used as fuel. Water requirement is 185 m3/day, which will be obtained from Uyyakondan Canal, which is a branch of Cauvery river. Air cooled condensers will be provided. The boiler feed water will be met from RO plant. A stack of height 95 m will be provided. The land requirement is estimated at 5 ha, which is available within the existing complex.
