Tamil Nadu government is setting up an apparel manufacturing park Kolapalur village in Gobichettipalayam in Erode district of the state. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,065 million. The project is being funded by the textiles ministry under the state Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP).
The park would have effluent and sewage treatment plants, uninterrupted power supply and wide roads, apart from a quality testing centre, a skill development centre and accommodation facility for 3,000 workers. There will also be a sports ground, an old age home and a community hall. Around 2,500 people would be trained in the park every year.
