TANGEDCO has invited bids to develop solar power projects of around 500 MW under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evem Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) program.
These projects will be of capacity of 1 MW to 2 MW and will be developed on wastelands of around 3.7 acres per MW. The land should be closer to existing sub-station for easier power evacuation.
The state distribution company (DISCOM) set a ceiling tariff of ₹3 (~$0.041)/kWh for the power sold from these projects.
