Arun Smelters is planning to increase its steel melting plant capacity in Pappankuppam near Gummidipoondi in Tamil Nadu. The project involves increasing steel melting capacity from 1600 tpm to 7100 tpm by replacing existing induction furnace (1 x 6.5 T) by 2 x 8 T and 1 x 7T induction furnaces. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 40 million.
