NTPC is planning to set up stage I & II 2000 MW Marakannam coal based project in coastal district of Tamil Nadu. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 55,000 million. Land required for the project is available. Imported coal is likely to be used for the project. Environmental clearance, water supply are awaited.
