VOC Port Trust is planning to set up a Multimodal Logistics Park in Coimbatore, Madurai and Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu. The Multimodal Logistics Park will provide facilities such as cold storage; warehouses equipped with mechanised material handling and intermodal transfer terminals for containers and bulk and break-bulk cargo. The park will also offer other value-added services such as customs clearance, bonded storage yards, quarantine zones, testing facilities, warehousing management services. Besides, being textile cluster, these parks will also have facilities for post-manufacturing activities such as kitting and final assembly, grading, sorting, labelling and packaging.
