Cauvery Power Generation is planning to set up 2×180 MW power plant in Billakuppam in Gummidipoondi in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. Currently, the site has an existing power plant of 63 MW.
The land area for existing plant in operation i.e. 63 MW is 22.96 Acres, and proposed, expansion will be within/adjacent to the existing land for which an additional land area of 50.04 Acres is required. Hence, upon expansion the total land area will be 73.00 Acres. Water requirement is met from bore well and consent for ground water clearance has been obtained.
