Corning Inc, the leading gorilla glass manufacturer is planning to set up a new production facility in Pilaipakkam in Sriperumpudur near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. It will become the quality finished smartphone cover glass factory, a joint venture between domestic electronics manufacturer Optiemus Infracom and Corning. The plant is likely to go operational by 2025.
