Tamil Nadu government is planning to develop a second airport near Chennai to meet increasing demand. The government has invited Request for Proposal bids from consultants to identify potential airport sites near Chennai. The project is likely to incur an investment of ₹ 200,000 million.
Currently, two locations – one Sriperumpudur in auto cluster and another near South Chennai are considered.
The selected consultant will identify 3 potential sites for the project.
