TN Government is planning to set up a medical college in Udamangadalam (Ooty) in Tamil Nadu. The project has received environmental clearance from centre and around 25 acres of land at Indu Nagar has been allotted for the college. An additional 15 acre of land belonging to Animal Husbandry department will also be used after transfer of land between inter departments.
The new medical college will be built on cost sharing basis between centre and state in the ratio of 60:40. The total medical seats available will be 150.
